Gambling group Intralot's Polish betting subsidiary Totolotek has received a 6-year Internet betting license from the Polish Ministry of Finance

Under the licence, Totolotek is empowered to provide Polish punters with fixed odds betting and sport pool games via the Internet, and the company has revealed that its plans include the development of live betting services.

Intralot's exec for Europe, Fotis Mavroudis, said Thursday: “We are pleased to inaugurate a new access point to our betting offerings for our customers in Poland. Establishing our interactive operations in the country is part of our strategy to exploit new sales channels and introduce new ways of playing, so as to better address the new preferences and habits of players, especially in younger demographics.

"Our global expertise in betting, our know-how in interactive gaming from our operations worldwide, as well as our long local experience, guarantee that we will further increase our market share in Poland and boost our revenues.”

Totolotek’s interactive operations in Poland are expected to commence in Q4-2013 and will be developed on Intralot technology.

The Polish betting firm has been active as an operator of mutual betting in the Polish market since 1992, and was acquired by Intralot in 2005, expanding to include some 400 points of sale across the Eastern European nation. Intralot claims it contributes some Euro 9 million a year to State Budget and Sports Associations.
