3 Major Online Poker Tournaments This Week In Prague

70 tournaments, three weeks of action and an influx of poker fans.
Three separate major live tournament poker tours – the World Poker Tour, the European Poker Tour and Ongame's Grand Series of Poker – are scheduled to provide nearly three weeks of action through December in the beautiful and historic Czech capital of Prague, providing a host of poker fans with around 70 competitions.
The World Poker Tour kicks the festival off at the Corinthian on December 1 with a Euro 120 buy-in NLHE event as part of the WPT National Prague, a tourney that offers plenty of variety in nine different events that include a Euro 750 buy-in Big Stack NLHE, a Euro 2,000 buy-in NLHE main event, and a Euro 3,000 buy-in PLO Championship.
Satellites online are already running for this series.
Adding a little diversity to the action in Prague, TonyG's growing online sports and poker firm Tonybet is hosting some Open Face Chinese live tourney action with two single-day pineapple events, again at the Corinthian on December 8 and 9. These will feature buy-ins of Euro 1,000 for the championship competition, and Euro 10,000 to take part in a High Roller competition.
Online poker provider Redbet will also be providing 10 events over four days as part of its popular Redbet Live series, with a Euro 225 main event scheduled for December 10. These opportunities are also backed by online satellites.
Over at the Prague Hilton the action will be hosted by two key Pokerstars tourneys – the European Poker Tour Prague and the Eureka Poker Tour Prague, which between them will present 45 competitions starting December 7 and running through to December 17
Judging by past performance these Prague-based events will be major player-pullers, generating entry fields in excess of a thousand players, many of them top world professionals in pursuit of seriously large prizes.
The Eureka main event will commence December 8, and the EPT main event on December 9.
Pokerstars is also presenting a Euro 50,000 buy-in Super High Roller on December 9 as part of its Prague effort, an event originally planned for London.
Ongame's Grand Series of Poker will again be present in Prague, providing ten events with the flagship a Euro 1,100 buy-in main event starting December 13.
Adding a touch of the orient is the new arrival in Prague of the Asian Poker Tour, with its first Euro 1,100 buy-in event scheduled for December 16.
It's likely to be chilly in the Czech capital, but the pre-Christmas vibe is reportedly wonderful, and the city provides tons of entertainment off the felt…and at reasonable prices.
