Tuesday August 30, 2011  : Online games to be developed on upcoming Red or Black? prime time TV show

Online gaming company Gamesys has scooped the rights to develop a series of online Red or Black? games in a deal signed with ITV Studios this week.

The new prime time TV game show Red or Black?, predicted to be a runaway success, was conceptualised by music mogul Simon Cowell.

The game starts with thousands of contestants in one arena, moving forward to a series of episodes held in different venues where the contestants are systematically eliminated.  The show climaxes with the last person standing making a life changing one million pound sterling decision on the spin of a wheel by choosing Red or Black?.

Working in partnership with ITV Studios and Syco TV, Gamesys has developed four pay-to-play Red or Black? online games which will be supported by a new on-air promotional campaign.

"Red or Black Slots", "Red or Black Instant", "Red or Black Hi Lo" and "Red or Black Stacks" will launch on Gamesys' operational website jackpotjoy.com on September 2, 2011.

Additionally ITV, Syco TV and Gamesys have partnered with 2-Screen Social TV specialists Monterosa to create a live online play-along experience for Red or Black? The free play-along game allows the TV audience to play along in-sync with the TV contestants.  Online players can compete with their Facebook friends and unlock achievements that enhance the game.

This innovation will debut at itv.com/redorblack from the first transmission of the gameshow event on September 3, 2011.

Denise O’Donoghue, Managing Director, ITV Studios UK said: “A primetime production of the scale of Red or Black? clearly has a huge amount of potential off-air; working with Syco we have been exploring the best opportunities to fully exploit this fantastic programme idea. Gamesys are experts in branded online gaming and are well positioned to reap maximum value from Red or Black? in this area."

Lee Fenton, Chief Operating Officer of Gamesys, said: “Red or Black is the most exciting TV event of the year and at Gamesys we are delighted to be working with ITV Studios and SYCO to develop exclusive games that capture the excitement of the show and allow Jackpotjoy players to make their own Red or Black decisions”.
