The investigation will conclude soon, and its results will be published, a city spokesman told the newspaper, noting that there were allegations that San Francisco Public Utilities Commission employees used city computers for online gambling.

Both supervisors and employees have been accused of involvement.

The SFPUC confirmed that it and the City Attorney’s Office are investigating allegations that a number of supervisors and employees in two divisions misused city resources.

Commission spokesman Tyrone Jue said Friday that the city was taking the allegations very seriously, but would not comment on the numbers of employees allegedly involved, or what discipline they would face if the investigation showed misconduct.

However, the official employee handbook warns that misuse of city resources can lead to termination of employment proceedings.
