Bwin will shutter Sportster App

Less than six months after launch. Yet another disappointment for a once great company.

Customers of the bwin.party digital entertainment-backed Sportster Bet and Win Facebook app have been notified of the imminent withdrawal of the application just four months after its launch.

According to a customer communication, Bwin will shutter Sportster on January 30, 2015 but omits to offer any further explanation.

 It is surmised the venture has been pulled following bwin’s intention to no longer invest in its social gaming arm WIN which is currently up for sale.

The app was developed as a joint venture with Nordeus and soft launched in Beta at the end of September 2014.
