VEGAS LAND CASINO SUES WEBSITES

Trademark infringements and business interference claimed in US District Court case

Details are still scarce on reports that Las Vegas land casino giant Station Casinos Inc. has launched litigation against two internet gambling websites, one of them based in Britain.

The lawsuit, filed in a US District Court in Nevada this week, claims that links on the two sites use Station Casinos Inc. trademarks, yet direct customers away from its business, the UPI press agency reports.

The defendants named in the two separate cases are S.L. Enterprises and one Ryan Murphy, who is based in the UK. Papers lodged with the court claimed that the defendants were exploiting the Station trademarks in order to lure prospective visitors away from Las Vegas.

The UPI report notes that the claim against S.L. Enterprises includes a statement that the company’s gambling policies "pay out more than is required in Vegas."
