Online poker sites’ regular Sunday tourneys deliver the big bucks

5/25/10 – Last Sunday’s online poker tournaments again provided six-figure wins for a host of online players across the main tournament websites, with one player in particular enjoying a continuing run of good cards to boost his impressive skills.

Playing on Full Tilt Poker.com, player “kirbynator” triumphed in the $750 000 Guaranteed event to take home $132 788 – his fourth big money win in as many weeks.

Starting at the end of March with a $75 889 victory in the Full Tilt $200 000 Guaranteed re-buy competition, “kirbynator” went on to take down the FTOPS main event for $327 057, then followed this with a Pokerstars SCOOP win worth $68 228. The prolific player has thus earned over $870 000 recently, adding to some impressive winnings since he took down the same event last year, on that occasion collecting a $145 000 pay check.

In his latest win, “kirbynator” bested an entry field of 4192 in which 540 players cashed from a prize pool of $1 257 600.

Other big online poker winners last weekend included Casey “bigdogpckt5s” Jarzabek, who won the Full Tilt Poker $100 re-buy for $47 225, and the Nordic prodigy Annette “Annette15” Obrestad who won the PokerStars Sunday 500, taking home $87 400 – a good warm-up for the World Series of Poker starting later this week.

On the PokerStars $215 buy-in Sunday Million, a prize pool of $1 624 000 was generated by an entry field of 8 120, with player “zwuerbs” victorious for $243 600, and cashes for 1 170 entrants.
