ONLINE POKER FUNDS SEIZED IN SWITZERLAND?

Thursday, October 13, 2011 : Speculation that $20 million is related to Full Tilt Poker issue.

Swiss news aggregator Paperboy.com has carried an intriguing report from La Tribune de Geneve this week, claiming local enforcement authorities have seized 18 million Swiss francs (around $20 million) from the Geneva bank Pictet & Co.

The action is understood to be related to the US government’s in rem seizure warrants issued against the property and assets of companies and individuals associated with Full Tilt Poker.

The factual information in the report is frustratingly sparse, but it is known that one of the banks mentioned in US Justice Department warrant applications was Pictet.

Confirmation of the report comes from Poker News, which reported on the Swiss newspaper article but had offered no further clarity on the matter when InfoPowa went to press.
