Team Europe wins International poker competition

Team Europe in Australian triumph
 
Sam Trickett's Team Europe, comprising Marvin Rettenmaier, Phil Gruissem, Dominik Nitsche, Sam Holden, with Trickett as captain, emerged victorious after a poker competition over the weekend against teams from two other continents
 
The competition was part of a feast of poker taking place under the World Series of Poker Asia Pacific and 2013 Caesars Cup banner in Melbourne, Australia.
 
Facing Trickett's pros was Team, America skippered by Phil Ivey and including Antonio Esfandiari, Daniel Negreanu, Greg Merson and Phil Hellmuth.
 
The third team came from the Asia-Pacific region and was captained by former WSOP main event champ Joe Hachem, comprising five-time WSOP gold bracelet winner Jeff Lisandro, Jackie Glazier, cricket star Shane Warne, Andrew Hinrichsen and Richard Yong.
 
The made-for-television, invite-only contest pits the three international teams against each other, and the European victory is the second in the annual series.
