Party CEO Arrested in Belgium

Tuesday November 13, 2012 :  BWIN.PARTY'S TEUFELBERGER DETAINED BY BELGIAN AUTHORITIES

Presumed to be linked to Belgian Gambling Authorities black list

Initial reports suggest that bwin.party digital entertainment's co-chief executive officer and the chairman of the European Betting and Gaming Association Norbert Teufelberger has been detained by Belgian authorities for questioning.

Industry observers surmise the intervention stems from bwin.party's presence on the Belgian Gambling Association's so-call black list of companies it deems as operating illegally in the jurisdiction.

Teufelberger was reportedly attending the EGBA's annual "Responsible Gaming Day" conference in Brussels when he was approached by Authorities.

The company issued a terse statement that simply said:

"In response to press reports this afternoon, the Group can confirm that Norbert Teufelberger, Co-CEO, was requested to attend an interview with the Belgium authorities.  He complied voluntarily with this request and is co-operating fully with the authorities. We will issue further details in due course."

More information as the situation becomes clearer.
