NFL Betting – Tebow and the Jets

NFL Betting – Tebow and the Jets Don’t Make Sweet Music on Monday Night

Houston Texans @ New York Jets – Monday October 8, 2012 – 8:30PM EST

The football crowd does not understand what is going on with the New York Jets. Injuries and poor coaching is just killing the New York offense, and now there are serious indications that the Jets will start Tim Tebow at quarterback in the team’s Monday Night Football game against the Houston Texans. The Jets have not made any announcements yet, but the New York media keeps claiming that it has reliable information. Unfortunately, it is hard to get reliable football information from the New York Jets because the team often has none to give. The New York circus continues.

The Houston Texans have been dubbed by many NFL  experts as the best team in the AFC. Some of the sports pundits are going as far as to say that the Texans are the best team in football. Considering all of the surprises that have gone on in the first four weeks of the season, it may be very accurate to call the Texans the best team in the league. The Houston Texans is a strong team at every aspect of the game. It even has a potent special teams unit that can score on any given kick. As long as Houston can stay healthy, then it should remain a Super Bowl favorite.

New York Jets

A statement that the Jets did make this week was that the team is not interested in bringing in wide receivers Chad Johnson and Terrell Owens because it doesn’t want the negative publicity. Even the best  sites are having a difficult time determining when the Jets are fawning for headlines and when the Jets are being serious. Tim Tebow is not a better quarterback than Mark Sanchez and this New York Jets’ team does not have the same tools that the Denver Broncos had last year. There is no stud receiver to throw to in the offense, the New York defense is not able to put up a fight and the Jets’ kicker is not able to make consecutive 59-yard field goals.

Houston Texans

The Texans have the best running game in football with running backs Ben Tate and Arian Foster, and it has one of the best receivers in the league in Andre Johnson. The football experts have been extremely impressed with the defense that defensive coordinator Wade Philips has put together, and it looks like this Houston team is fully packed. Injuries derailed the Texans’ Super Bowl dreams last year and the team is working hard to avoid that from happening again this year.

The Bottom Line

The Jets need to stop and reevaluate what it is doing. Its offense is in shambles and the defense is heading down the tubes as well. It is time to stop with the wildcat nonsense and start playing real football. But that is just not the Jets’ style.
