Online gambling software developer BetSoft Gaming has announced the release of a new Western-themed 5 reel, 30-line 3D slot titled The True Sheriff.
 
A company spokesperson said Thursday that the new game represented a landmark for the company, as it is the first widescreen HD video slot to be developed by its staff.
 
The True Sheriff is set in the sleepy Western town of High Noon, bringing the famous American Wild West genre to life with widescreen animations. Players assist the stalwart eponymous sheriff, who is fiercely dedicated to honesty, integrity and upholding the law, as he faces down a notorious outlaw who plans to steal from the town's saloon.
 
Features in the game include a cinematic Showdown Bonus Round that uses over twenty different cut scenes to make each showdown between the sheriff and the outlaw a unique visual experience.
 
"Bringing the widescreen HD format to our Slots3 collection is the next vital step in developing modern video slots gaming," says Anthony Locke, BetSoft's head of product development. "The widescreen format allows for larger reels and more painstaking detail, which creates a better, more immersive experience for the player."
 
As with all BetSoft games, the mobile ToGo version of The True Sheriff is soon to follow.
