Tom Marchese 2010 Card Player of The Year

The respected poker publication CardPlayer Magazine has honoured poker pro Tom Marchese as its 2010 Card Player of The Year.
 
The 23-year-old, who turned pro from playing as a student just three years ago, has been successful in live tournament action and is a formidable internet player on both Pokerstars and Full Tilt Poker under the nickname "kingsofcards".
 
Marchese ended the year with 6,738 points, winning the prestigious CardPlayer title for the first time in his career after defeating talented rivals such as Dwyte Pilgrim, Sorel Mizzi and Vanessa Selbst in a competitive year for the POY race.
 
CardPlayer has announced that Marchese will receive a trophy for his win and a $10,000 seat in the 2011 World Series of Poker main event. The magazine published its list of finalists as:

Marchese, who hails from New Jersey, won through to 11 final tables during the year, taking down two tournament titles along with $2,068,658 in prize money and playing at major venues on the US live tournament trail, where he made 16 cashes in 2010.
