UK bookmaker Betfred has appointed Trevor Beaumont, formerly chief executive officer of the Tote, as the new chief executive officer of the enlarged Betfred Group.

Trevor Beaumont commented: “After over six years at the Tote, I am pleased my association will continue once the sale process is completed. I am excited about working on the integration of the two companies and I am convinced the enlarged group will be good for Racing and for employment opportunities.”

In related news, Betfred announced the appointment of Joe Scanlon as the Director of Racing for the enlarged group.

Commenting on both appointments, Fred Done, Chairman of Betfred, said:  "I am delighted Trevor has accepted my invitation to become Betfred CEO. His deep knowledge of the Tote makes him the ideal person to lead the integration of Betfred and the Tote and to help us realise the great potential we have from bringing the two businesses together.

"Joe Scanlon will be a welcome addition to the team with his extensive experience and I am looking forward to working with both Trevor and Joe.”
