Turbo Poker Approved By Arjel

Monday July 16 2012 : ILIAD'S TURBO POKER APPROVED BY FRENCH REGULATOR

White label's future plans uncertain

Industry observers could be excused for feeling a little confused this week as the news broke that French regulator ARJEL had issued a licence to Turbopoker.fr, listing it as "operated by Iliad Gaming and domiciled in Malta."

Our readers will recall that earlier this month the French telecommunication service provider announced that it had ceased its online poker and sportsbetting activity in the French market operated via its subsidiary Iliad Gaming.

Iliad Gaming websites Chilipoker.fr and Chilipari.fr, were operated in partnership with Gameinvest Holdings, and the closures were announced in the French press by Thomas Reynaud, chief financial and development officer of Iliad, citing onerous French taxation as the cause, along with losses of Euro 4 million in two years.

However, it appears that TurboPoker was/is a white label, which will now presumably find a new operator.
