Players must be in the UK or the Isle of Man
From 13 December 2010, a rule change by the UK's National Lottery run by Camelot will make it clear to players that they must be resident in the UK or the Isle of Man to be eligible and players will have to be physically present in the country when buying their tickets.
Currently, tickets can be bought overseas via interactive accounts, but this may break local gambling laws and invalidate the ticket and any winnings.
A Camelot spokesman said "The general rule of thumb is that if any overseas country has its own lottery, playing the UK one will be illegal".
