Joe Versaci, the marketing chief for the first legal online poker room in the United States, Ultimate Poker, spoke about his company's relationship with the Ultimate Fight Club this week, and the enormous marketing advantage this gives the enterprise.
 
UFC, Ultimate Gaming and Ultimate Poker are all members of the Fertitta Interactive-Station Casinos stable owned by the Fertitta brothers, and the player bases and cross-marketing opportunities presented by this close association are being developed to the full.
 
Talking to MMAFrenzy.com about what that partnership means, Versaci said it was "massively important on multiple fronts."
 
"Just from a brand awareness standpoint, the UFC is in 800 million homes and controls its own content, which means that – as the exclusive online gaming partner – we can have our name on the mat in large fights and we have access to their over 10 million Facebook users,” Versaci said.
 
"This really helps in the critical 21-44 demo as many of them also watch the UFC. This drives down the cost of player acquisition and allows us to pass value onto the players.
 
"So since our acquisition and marketing costs are low we can offer more rewards, exclusive UFC prizing, and we'll continue to do that.
 
"Just having the clout of the world's fastest-growing sport behind you is huge because then all the major media companies want to work with you and it allows you to enter any conversation you want to have in the sports and/or entertainment world.
 
"It makes it a lot easier for us to get things done than some other company that's having to work with lower level people in sports, we really get the door held open for us with a lot of these partners."
 
Versaci concluded by revealing that plans are in place to expand the reach of the online gambling community in the future.
