Monday July 16 2012 : PADDY POWER TO FEATURE IN TV REALITY SHOW

"Undercover Boss" series will centre on new operations chief

UK viewers interested in the online gambling business will have an opportunity to see the Ireland-based Paddy Power group up close and personal tomorrow when Channel Four's "Undercover Boss" reality television series showcases the company.

The show specialises in sending a ‘cloaked' top company executive to the coalface of businesses to interact with employees and gain their perspective on what's happening at the customer-company interface, along with employee opinions and ideas for corporate improvement.

In the Channel Four production Monday the new chief operations officer at PP – William Reeves – will be followed as he visits company operational units incognito during a busy period when the company closed in on a key betting business opportunity – the recent Euro 2012 football tournament in the Ukraine.

The publicity blurb on the program outlines some of the threats to business that Reeves encounters, such as employee fears over robberies at retail outlets, customer abuse and how employees perceive the punters.

Senior management at Paddy Power have given the program their full support, with chief executive officer Patrick Kennedy quoted as saying that it represented an opportunity for the company to find out what its employees really thought about it.
