US Discussing Online Gambling Consumer Protection

John Pappas, executive director of the Poker Players Alliance, has advised the poker information portal US Poker that online gambling issues such as consumer protection, age verification, money laundering and law enforcement are expected to be on the as yet unpublished agenda of a Senate sub-committee that will be discussing internet gambling next week.
The Subcommittee on Consumer Protection, Product Safety, and Insurance convenes mid-morning on July 17th In Washington DC, when its members will hear testimony from an as yet unreleased witness list.
This is a subcommittee of the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, and the hearing is titled: "The Expansion of Internet Gambling: Assessing Consumer Protection Concerns”.
