The UK-based 3D online poker room PKR.com has launched its latest Version 2.08 software upgrade with an innovative and entertaining feature – it allows players to order in-game drinks for themselves and their friends in exchange for PKR points.
 
The addition incorporates remarkably real sound effects that include the clink of ice cubes in the glass as an avatar takes a sip of his or her cocktail.
 
A range of beverages is available, from pints of beer and cocktails like the mojito to polyester cups of coffee.
 
A new playing venue has been introduced with the update, where the action takes place aboard a luxury yacht.
 
Multi-tabling on the new software is reportedly much easier to handle as several windows can be opened at the same time and arranged in a variety of ways to match the user's preference. Up to nine games can be displayed on one screen, allowing the player to flick between tables and stay on top of each hand.
 
The upgrade also allows players to record hands, enabling them to analyse a mistake, relive an exciting showdown, or just save a memorable hand for posterity. And players can also share the videos on YouTube without leaving the table.
 
"Multi-tabling is massive now and we really wanted to nail it with this update," a PKR spokesman said this week. "The hand-replay function is just awesome. We love to hear about the royal flushes and crazy bluffs that happen on the site – now everyone can share their favourite plays online and it really opens up the social side of the game."
