Major William Hill Deal

5/26/10 – The UK online and land gambling group William Hill plc has placed GBP 128 500 in an advertising order on Play LA Inc., which owns and operates network of multi-language gambling information websites that reach hundreds of thousands of users across the UK and Europe.

Play LA generates revenues through advertising from some of the biggest names in the online gaming industry, like Ladbrokes, William Hill, Stan James and Betfair.

In terms of its agreement with Will Hill, the portal company will provide William Hill extensive branding and ad placements across the company’s websites for English, Spanish and German sports fans. Coverage will include content on major websites like Betting Choice.co.uk, Opcionde Apuestas.com and Das Wettan Gebot throughout 2010. Play LA Inc is required to send William Hill a minimum number of new players throughout the duration of the agreement.

“This advertising agreement is our largest to date, in terms of value. In addition to the paid placements, we will continue to earn commissions on the traffic we send to William Hill”, Play LA chief executive David Hallonquist revealed this week, noting that Will Hill is one of twenty-five top bookmakers that the company promotes throughout its websites.

“Based on our 2009 earnings with William Hill, the combined value of this year’s business could exceed US $250 000”.

According to Play LA spokesmen, the deal gives the company both presence and stature in the industry, and could lead to more corporate developments in the future.

Play LA listed on the OTCBB market in the US in March 2009 and its business strategy is to generate revenues through models such as pay-per-click as well as variations such as pay-per-impression, pay-per-lead, pay-per real-money player and flat rate models for advertisers.

Last (April) month, the company advised that it is currently developing a French-facing website in preparation for the market in that country opening up. The new site will provide information for sports betters in the form of news, commentary, player profiles, match odds, statistics and betting tips for the most popular sports in France.

In March this year Play LA announced the acquisition of Arsenal-mania.com, a football fan website dedicated to Arsenal FC, one of the UK Premiership’s top football clubs.
