Tennis Odds: Djokovic, Williams Favored at Wimbledon

Thursday June 25,2015 : Tennis Odds: World's Top Seeds are Top Favorites at Wimbledon

They're the top-ranked players in tennis, so it's only fitting that Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams are the favorites heading into the sport's most important event. At press time, Djokovic is pegged at 5/4 to win his third Wimbledon Championships; Williams is 7/4 to claim her sixth title at SW19. The first round begins Monday at the famed All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

Djokovic has already taken down five tournaments in 2015, including the Australian Open, winning 41 of his 44 matches in the process. However, he didn't participate in any of this year's grass-court warm-ups for Wimbledon. Andy Murray (11/4) and Roger Federer (6/1) could be better bargains as a result. Both contenders won their recent warm-up events at Queen's Club and Halle, respectively.

Williams has also been dominant this year in women's action, picking up three titles (including the Australian and French Opens) with a record of 32-1 and two withdrawals. But again, Williams has yet to play on grass in 2015. Defending and two-time champion Petra Kvitova carries more betting value at 7/2; the World's No. 2-ranked player is 37-11 lifetime on grass courts and 26-3 at Wimbledon over the past five years.
