Winamax about to branch out into sports betting

Sports betting and poker always make a good combination.
 
One of the leaders in the dedicated French online poker market, Winamax, is about to branch out into sports betting as part of an initiative to diversify its business.
 
Poker players have always had an affinity with sports gambling, and the cross-marketing opportunities of such a move are clear. In the French context, online sports betting has been achieving better business levels in relation to internet poker, showing 22 percent growth.
 
Reports from France that the company is busy recruiting staff for the new venture suggest that the sports betting activity will kick off in the near future – the dates for staff interviews are scheduled around end-April.
 
The company has not thus far made any official announcements, and its likely partners in a sports betting move are not yet known.
