Noah Schwartz Wins WPT Alpha8 Florida

Tuesday January 20,2015 : SCHWARTZ DOMINATES IN POKER HIGH ROLLER COMPETITION

But WPT Alpha8 Florida attracts only six entrants.

Poker pro Noah Schwartz has augmented the $539,550 he won a month ago for a fourth spot in the World Poker Tour Alpha8  with a $585,000 victory in the Florida edition of the tour.

Florida proved to be a disappointment in terms of the size of the entry field, with only six players prepared to lay down the $100,000 buy-in for the winner-takes-all super high roller competition, which nevertheless produced a formidable table of top international players that included Daniel Colman, Bryn Kenney, Byron Kaverman, Jake Schindler and Jason Mercier.

Schwartz, who now holds the distinction of winning both a World Poker Tour main event (2012 WPT Jacksonville) and a WPT Alpha8 title, entered the heads up against Jake Schindler holding the chip lead, and despite a double up rally by his opponent he managed to covert supremacy to victory.

In addition to the fat winner’s check, Schwartz also took home the Alpha8 trophy, a gold pair of Monster 24K headphones and a Hublot King Power Unico titanium watch.

This was the poker pro's seventh career tournament victory, bringing his lifetime live tournament earnings to $5,200,182.
