Competitors to collaborate in New Jersey market

Bloomberg reports on an interesting development in the Wynn Resorts – 888 Holdings Nevada internet gaming partnership, one which will reportedly extend to the developing New Jersey market.

According to an unnamed source, Wynn will host its servers at a Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City property – traditionally a prominent competitor – to meet the bricks and mortar physical presence regulatory requirements set by the State regulator.

“As the online business rolls out on a state-by-state basis, everyone will need to partner with someone,” Itai Frieberger, chief operating officer of 888 Holdings, told Bloomberg in a telephone interview. “You’ll find very strong partnerships in some cases with competitors in order to get a license.”

Both Frieberger and Wynn spokesman Michael Weaver declined to comment on where Wynn's computers would be located.

According to the New Jersey Gaming Enforcement Division, casino property owners are free to house equipment from multiple providers.

And 888 Holdings is sitting pretty netting U.S. iGaming agreements with Wynn, Caesars Entertainment, Treasure Island Casino in Las Vegas and the Delaware Lottery.

“We could have 10 different brands operating in the U.S. by the end of the year,” a confident Frieberger said.
