Four Best AFC Quarterbacks For 2013
NFL Betting: Four Best AFC Quarterbacks For 2013
As the 2013 NFL season gets ready to kickoff, fans of AFC teams are already starting to put their team’s quarterback in lists with the other AFC QB’s. In some respects, ranking the AFC quarterbacks is not much of a challenge because the top three spots are pretty easy to rank. But once you start to get into the fourth spot and later, it gets a little difficult to tell which quarterbacks deserve recognition and which ones do not. Let’s rank the top four quarterbacks in the AFC and see who the odds makers think has the best signal caller in the conference.
AFC Quarterback #1: Peyton Manning – Denver Broncos : The top two spots in the AFC for quarterbacks in 2013 will be dominated by Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. But when you look at what each quarterback has to work with, you have to give the nod to Manning. Brady’s receiving corps has been dismantled through free agency, injuries and legal problems. Peyton Manning has a group of receivers that can run the fly routes down the sidelines and take the beatings up the middle. The Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning will be very difficult to beat this season.
AFC Quarterback #2: Tom Brady – New England Patriots : The fastest way for Tom Brady to surpass Peyton Manning on this list is to have a great season with the receivers he has and show how he can turn nothing into something. Brady has done it before, but he has always had that one receiver he could really count on to get him out of a jam. Until Rob Gronkowski returns from his injury, Brady has no one to throw to that he can really trust and that will affect the kind of season he has.
AFC Quarterback #3: Ben Roethlisberger – Pittsburgh Steelers: Ben Roethlisberger is in a situation that is similar to Tom Brady’s in that Roethlisberger doesn’t have much to work with in 2013. But Big Ben’s incredible ability to improvise has made him a force in the AFC and one of the top quarterbacks in the conference. The Steelers have had an extremely difficult time winning games without Roethlisberger in the lineup, which shows his value to his team. But it is his ability to make things happen when nothing is available that makes Ben Roethlisberger such a dangerous quarterback.
AFC Quarterback #4: Andrew Luck – Indianapolis Colts: If Luck can avoid a “sophomore slump,” then he has a chance to take the Colts even deeper in the playoffs in 2013. No one expected Luck and the rookie offense in Indianapolis to win games, much less make the playoffs in 2012. But the Colts showed that they were put together for a reason and Luck was the undisputed leader of the Indianapolis offense. This kid has a bright future and he is already one of the best quarterbacks in the AFC.
