2015 WSOP Schedule Released
Wednesday December 24,2014 : WSOP 2015 DATES ANNOUNCED
Event includes inaugural event dubbed The Colossus
The 46th World Series of Poker (WSOP) will run from May 27 to July 14 at Las Vegas’ Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in 2015.
The jammed schedule includes gold bracelet events, satellites, cash games and thrice daily deep stack tournaments running for 49 consecutive days, with the WSOP Main Event reaching its final nine players on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, a WSOP release said.
The $10,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em WSOP Main Event championship, which will feature three starting flights – Sunday, July 5; Monday, July 6; and Tuesday, July 7, will see the 2015 World Champion guaranteed a $10 million pay check.
Back on the schedule in 2015, and which were the most attended events in 2014, are the Millionaire Maker and Monster Stack.
Stats from 2014’s WSOP reveal an average gold bracelet event prize pool of $3 503 275. The Main event attracted 6683 entries, the Millionaire Maker 7977, Monster Stack 7863, the Little One for ONE DROP 4496 and the Seniors Event 4425, cumulatively an impressive 31444 entries.
“We believe the WSOP is uniquely able to deliver the big event with life-changing money for some and a life- experience for all,” said WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart.
“We are going to proudly stage the kinds of events which draw players from all around the world while also staying true to our heritage of contesting all variants of poker.”
The WSOP also announced an inaugural event for 2015 dubbed “the Colossus”. It’s a two starting day event on May 29 and May 30 featuring a $5 million guaranteed prize pool but with the lowest buy-in for any WSOP open event in the past 35 years of $565.
“Load up the entire gang - the home game, the spouse, whomever you know that enjoys the game,” said Stewart. “The Colossus is going to feature a historic prize pool at this buy-in level and it can only happen at the World Series of Poker.”
The full event-by-event schedule is expected to be released during January 2015, but in the meantime the full release can be read here: http://www.wsop.com/2015/2015%20WSOP%20Save%20the%20Date.pdf
