9/14/09 - This Friday, 18/09/09, €100,000,000 can be yours, if you choose to take part in the Euromillions drawing. Last Friday the jackpot was €42,000,000 but no one has won; now it’s your chance. You don’t have to live in Europe in order to buy tickets, now you can play from everywhere in the world.
Some information about Euromillions:
Euromillions differs from its American cousins in one very important way. It doesn’t have any of the fancy (and odds killing) extra balls for you to guess. It does, however, have “lucky stars.” These stars are numbered 1 through 9. The easiest way to win is to choose either 1 number and 2 lucky stars or 2 numbers and 1 lucky star. The best odds, however, favor choosing 2 numbers and 1 lucky star.
The Euromillions is drawn in Paris every Friday night.
The Odds
The overall odds for winning the Euromillions are 1 in 24 which are much better than most of the American lottery choices. Your best chance of winning is picking 2 numbers and 1 lucky star (1 in 39). The odds of winning the grand prize are 1 in 76,275,360 (also significantly better than American lotteries).
There is, however, a glitch in the Euromillions game. Getting both of the lucky stars right is a 1 in 62 chance, yet no prize is awarded for it. Regardless, Euromillions gives you great bang for your buck.
Why You Should Play
Perhaps I wasn’t clear with my “bang for your buck” quote. The odds on Euromillions are nothing short of extraordinary for a lottery. In addition, the prize money consistently reaches into 10’s of millions of Euro. EuroMillions has great odds and lots of money; why wouldn’t you play? Lotteries are a global phenomenon and the Euromillions offers one of the best payouts in the world. With the great odds offered and the strength of the Euro in the world market, you can’t go wrong playing this lottery.
