Tuesday July 3, 2012 : UNOFFICIAL FINAL TABLE SET AT BIG ONE FOR ONE DROP (Update)
Antonio Esfandiari leads the field at Level 17
Antonio Esfandiari was leading a drastically reduced field as the million dollar buy-in Big One for One Drop reached the final table stage Tuesday with just eight players left as InfoPowa went to press.
Among the million dollar casualties so far are Chamath Palihapitiya, who lost his stack to John Morgan in the first hand. Vivek Rajkumar followed him to the exit just twenty minutes later after a clash with Frederic Banjout, who later became a casualty himself.
Mikhail Smirnoff busted out Daniel Negreanu and Tom Dwan, and Phil Galfond and Noah Schwartz were both bundled out as well – all in the first hour of the action.
Thirty minutes later, Thomas Reinkemeier, Phil Ruffin and John Morgan were gone. Paul Newey, Gus Hansen, Phil Ivey, Ben Lamb, Bob Bright, Dan Shak and finally Smirnov likewise headed for the exit, and just over an hour after that it was Jason Mercier and Rick Solomon on their way to the rail.
Latest casualties were Mike Sexton and Ilya Bulychev as the bubble boy. For his 9th place finish, Sexton will take home $1,109,333.
