NBA Pre-season Preview 2013

NBA Pre-season Preview

The NBA pre-season has gotten under-way as teams around the league try to work out their kinks before the season officially gets going. This week will feature several games; here are a couple of game previews for sports betting fans to think about.

Toronto Raptors vs. New York Knicks

Both Toronto and New York have two wins under their belt, but with Toronto at home it could be the boost they need to take down the Knicks. On top of having a 2-1 record at home, the Raptors are expecting the return of point guard Kyle Lowry. Along with Lowry’s return, Toronto will be featuring Jonas Valaciunas, the rookie Raptor wonder who impressed us with his excellent defensive play and offensive hustle.

However, the Knicks are looking to bounce back after a couple of injuries set the team back some. Monday saw the return of Amar’e Stoudemire return after suffering from a bruised knee. Like the Raptors the Knicks have two wins, however, no losses. Both are a part of the Eastern division, although the Knicks had a much more successful 2011-2012 campaign.

Once again Toronto is hoping that their rookies and higher prospects will carry the team, however, we know how Toronto’s story will most likely end, awfully. Many online sports books have the Raptors as the favorite, but will only be pre-season luck if they win.

Portland Trailblazers vs. Sacramento Kings

Last season these two met each other with pretty one sided results. The Trailblazers are 18-11 all time after playing the Kings; however they are only 4-8 while playing in Sacramento. Portland currently holds a 1-1 record while Sacramento has only played one game for one win.

Being pre-season, those who enjoy online betting a like should hold too much hope for these games. While it is so early in the season both teams are giving their veteran stars a break while paying mostly rookies and other newly acquired players. However, look for Portland to bounce back after having a sub-par game late last week.  With a few injuries causing some problems, gain it is only pre-season and it will give the Trailblazers a chance to play some other guys who we probably won’t see much of come the beginning of the regular season.
