2013 WSOP Day 2 Official Numbers

Combined field on Day 3 will have 1,743 hopefuls
 
World Series of Poker officials have advised that just 953 players survived the action in Day 2C of main event action  and will join the 790 players still standing after Day 2 A-B when the combined field reassembles later today (Thursday) Vegas time to play Day 3.
 
That makes a combined field of 1,743…way down from the starting field for this event just a few days ago, when 6,352 players ponied up the $10,000 buy-in to take part.
 
The current top two chip stacks are both US players, Mark Kroon on 507,300 and Victor Figueroa on 460,600.
 
More details on big names who have busted out or have stayed the course are now available.
 
Staying (for now) are former WSOP Main Event champs Carlos Mortensen (295,500), Johnny Chan (169,000), Tom McEvoy (82,500) and Phil Hellmuth (49,000).
 
Jean-Robert Bellande (320,900) is still in with a good chance, as is internet ace Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier (245,600), Theo Jorgensen (187,900), Jake Cody (160,000), Isaac Haxton (106,000), Humberto Brenes (66,100), Phil Ivey (198,800) and Angel Guillen (50,300).
 
Hoping to again make the November Nine are Rob Salaburu (180,300) and Jeremy Ausmus (38,600).
 
Out of this year's main event are online mavens like David “Doc” Sands, Brian Hastings and Tom “durrrr” Dwan, along with Maria Ho, Frank Kassela, Vanessa Selbst, Jen Harman, Matt Perrins and Matt Waxman.
