2013 World Series of Poker Schedule

Friday February 15,2013 : 2013 WORLD SERIES OF POKER SCHEDULE RELEASED

49 days of top quality poker…and 62 winner's bracelets up for grabs

The 44th edition of the World Series of Poker for 2013 will again be held in Las Vegas, beginning May 29 at its traditional venue, the Rio Hotel and Casino, the organisers announced Thursday.

This year the world of poker's biggest live tournament will last for 49 days and offer 62 winners' bracelets….and loads of cash….for the top players in each event.

This year's $10,000 buy-in main event will kick off on three starting day heats between July 7 to 9, with play again pausing for several months once the final table has formed some ten days later.

The tournament will feature charity events in aid of providing third world nations with clean water, with the NLHE One Drop High Roller calling for a buy-in of $111,111 as the main fund-raiser, and a lower-priced Little One for One Drop event also available with re-buys.

The organisers have come up with a plan to stop males entering the Ladies Championship event, a perennial problem. Males wishing to enter will be faced with a $10,000 buy-in, whilst females get a substantial discount and will pay only $1,000.

The currently popular trend to play Open Face Chinese poker is acknowledged by the inclusion of a $5,000 buy-in event, although it will not carry a winner's bracelet in this inaugural appearance. Other additions to the schedule include an NLHE mix-max competition and a 4-handed NLHE contest.

The organisers hope to overtake last year's 74,766 entrants for WSOP events, who generated a total prize pool in 2012 of $222 million
