2014 WSOP Event 27

Sunday June 15,2014 :  TOMMY HANGS IN FOR A NOTABLE POKER WIN

Washington state pro claims his first WSOP bracelet in H.O.R.S.E. event.

Washington state pro Tommy Hang (34) will be celebrating this weekend after winning his first World Series of Poker bracelet and a worthwhile  $230,744 main prize in event 27, a $10,000  buy-in H.O.R.S.E. championship competition he has been aiming for over the years.

743 entrants contributed to a prize pool worth $1,003,050 in the event, which pulled in veteran players like Jon Turner, Dutch Boyd, David Baker and Jim Collopy.

The field was whittled down to a final table that comprised Hang, playing for his twenty-fifth WSOP cash and that H.O.R.S.E. bracelet that had evaded him, and Jim Collopy, Kristan Lord, Brandon Guss, Joseph Villella, Chris George, Stewart Yancik and Dave Baker.

The departure of Kristan Lord at third for $96,894 opened the heads with Hang, holding a 2 to 1 chip lead, facing Jim Collopy. There was no stopping the Washington state ace, and he quickly extended his lead to 6 to 1 before seeing off Collopy, who collected a runner-up pay-check for $142,533
