LA pro bests Kyle Miaso in a gruelling heads up.
 
Even 21 at the World Series of Poker – a $10,000 buy-in Omaha Hi Lo Split Championship – is in the record books as a victory for Los Angeles poker pro Daniel Alaei, who scored a first prize pay day of $391,097 for the win and his fifth WSOP winner's bracelet.
 
A prize pool of $1.47 million was generated by a stellar entry field of 157 players, many of them notable names, enabling 18 survivors to cash.
 
The heads up between Miaso and Alaei was a hard-fought and lengthy affair which started with Miaso a million chips better off than Alaei. However, the LA pro closed the gap and from then on the lead see-sawed between the two men until Alaei managed to build up an advantage he could maintain to eliminate a very worthy opponent.
 
Miaso's second placing prize was worth $240,000, whilst other final table players, who included four previous WSOP bracelet holders, were paid:
