2016 World Poker Tour Main Event in Amsterdam

Monday May 16,2016 :  SERBIAN VICTORY AT WORLD POKER TOUR AMSTERDAM

Andjelko Andrejevic adds Euro 200,000 to his bank account, and an important title.

Serbian poker pro Andjelko Andrejevic has triumphed in the Euro 3,300 buy-in World Poker Tour Main Event in Amsterdam, adding Euro 200,000 to his bank balance and a prestigious title to his c.v.

Playing against a tough final table that included the formidable Anthony Zinno, Andrejevic started the action as chip leader and played a leading role in the eliminations that followed, resulting in a tight confrontation with Zinno when the latter doubled up in an epic hand.

However, Zinno ran out of space in a subsequent hand against Tomas Fara from the Czech Republic and made a surprise exit at third for Euro 90,460.

That left Andrejevic facing Fara in the heads up, and the lead see-sawed several times as the two players battled on. Andrejevic exhibited remarkable composure and control that enabled him to stage comebacks, then establish dominance and finally dispatch his last – and very worthy – opponent.

Fara took home a well-earned Euro 143,300, leaving the lion's share of the spoils to his Czech nemesis.

In addition to his Euro 200,000 main prize and the title, Andrejevic earned a ticket for the WPT Tournament of Champions event at the end of the season, worth an additional $15,000.

Other final table cashes included:

4 Emrah Cakmak France Euro 67,300
5 Senh Ung United Kingdom Euro 50,518
6 Hans Bosman Netherlands Euro 40,396
