MALAYSIAN POLICE BUST ONLINE GAMBLING RING

62 arrested in coordinated police swoop.

Malaysian police have reported conducting a coordinated raid on four different premises around Medan Idaman, Mile 5, Jalan Gombak in Kuala Lampur this week.

The raids were conducted following information received by the police that illegal online gambling operations were taking place and the raids resulted in the detention of 62 men aged between 23 and 56.

Kuala Lumpur police anti-vice, gambling and secret societies division staff officer DSP Razali Abu Samah said 57 of the men were caught red handed while the rest were in the premises when police conducted the simultaneous raid from 8.30pm.

Police seized 85 computerised gambling machines and RM1,163 in cash, he told reporters at the scene.  "We have raided these gambling premises on several occasions but they keep on with this activity," he said.
