Romanello triumphs in Slovakian World Poker Tour event

Welsh poker pro Roberto Romanello emerged the victor in this week's World Poker Tour Bratislava tourney in Slovakia, beating Mayu Roca in the heads up to claim the main prize of Euro 140 685.

It was the second major win in three months for the Welsh dynamo, who took down the European Poker Tour Prague at the end of last year.

With EPT and WPT titles in the bag, Romnello will be looking forward to clinching a World Series of Poker win to claim a tripe crown achievement.

The Euro 2,720 buy-in Bratislava competition was well attended, with 211 players registering to create a prize pool of almost half a million Euros.

The final table came down to Romanello and Roca, along with Alexander Jager, Frank Dollinger, Jesper Hoog, Chris Williamson, Bodo Sbrzesny, Marek Tatar and Lubomir Kudlicka.

Roca's second placing brought him a Euro 71 000 payday.
