UK newspaper and accountability watchdog press for legal filings to be unsealed.
 
The wrongful dismissal litigation in Las Vegas between Sheldon Adelson's Las Vegas Sands group and its former Macau chief executive, Steven Jacobs  could have more repercussions for the land gambling group following a petition this week to a Clark County District Judge.
 
The petition, from US accountability watchdog the Campaign for Accountability, and the British newspaper group Guardian News and Media, wants the judge to unseal case filings that allegedly may establish business links between Sands and Chinese organised crime triads.
 
The sealed evidence is reportedly material prepared by former Hong Kong police investigator Steven Vickers, and its release is being sought as a matter of compelling public interest, due at least in part to Adelson's acknowledged status as a major Republican Party donor and political influencer in the United States.
 
There is also the possibility that any proven relationship between Sands and organised crime could attract the attention of Las Vegas licensing authorities.
