Pokerstars Cutting Staff in the UK

AMAYA IN U.K. STAFF RATIONALISATION DRIVE

London office suffers staff cuts as jobs are eliminated or transferred to the Isle of Man.

Reports from insider sources at Amaya Friday indicate that the Pokerstars parent group is cutting staff in its London offices as "dozens" of jobs are either eliminated or transferred to the Isle of Man headquarters of the online poker giant.

The rationale for the cuts is apparently to improve operational costs efficiency and the group organisational structure.

Amayas corporate communications chief, Eric Hollreiser, has confirmed the cuts, noting that dozens of jobs are involved but giving an assurance that wherever possible those affected will be re-deployed in new areas suited to their professional qualifications.

He added that the cuts were part of Amayas strategy to evolve beyond a single-product group to one which now offers casino, sports betting and daily fantasy sports.
