2016 Amsterdam-hosted Master Classics of Poker Results

EXTRA DAY NEEDED TO RESOLVE MASTER CLASS OF POKER EVENT IN AMSTERDAM

But Hakim Zoufri takes just a half-hour to eliminate his final opponent.

Local poker pro Hakim Zoufri took just a half-hour to dispatch his final opponent in the heads up of the Amsterdam-hosted Master Classics of Poker this weekend after the final table dragged on and required an additional day to come to a conclusion.

356 hopefuls entered the event, and by the scheduled third day of the competition on Friday Zoufri and German ace Fabio Sperling were still fighting it out in the heads up, making it necessary for officials to re-schedule for an extra day.

In fact it was barely needed; when Sperling and Zoufri took their seats on Saturday it was all over in just a half-hour as the Dutch pro enjoyed an extraordinarily good run, reversing his German opponent's dominance in the preceding day's action and sending him to the exit and a runner-up prize of Euro 184,820.

Zoufri collected an armful of rewards that included Euro 275,608, some unusual trophies and an entry into a previous Master Classics of Poker winner companionship that includes names like Noak Boeken Ram Vaswani, Robert Mizrachi and Ole Schemion.

Here's the rest of the final table cashes:

Ivan Arbatsky Euro 128,147

Samuli Sipila Euro 52,584
Michiel Brosky Euro 41,447
Rashed Zade Euro 33,411
Charlie Carrel Euro 27,349
