May numbers slide 9 percent
 
Newly released figures show Atlantic City's casinos had to endure another decline in revenues in May, showing an across the board slide of 9 percent to $290.6 million when compared with those of May 2010.
 
Associated Press reports that the biggest loser was Trump Plaza Hotel Casino, down 25 percent, from $17.3 million last May to $13 million this May.
 
Across all casinos, slot machine win fell 8.7 percent, to $206 million, while table game win decreased by 10.1 percent, to $84.6 million.
 
For the first five months of the year, the Atlantic City casinos won $1.4 billion, down 7.6 percent from the same period in 2010.
 
The New Jersey gambling mecca is struggling in the midst of a four-and-a-half year revenue slump brought on by competition from casinos in neighbouring states and the sluggish US economy.
