Biggest Poker losers this week

Sunday April 6,2014 :  MAJOR POKER PLAYERS TAKE BIG LOSSES ONLINE

It's not often you see four of the top nosebleed players heading the "biggest losers" list!

The latest High Stakes Data Base report on the high stakes online poker action at Full Tilt Poker notes something that is rarely seen – four of the biggest names at the nosebleed tables all at the top of the "biggest losers this week" list.

The four – Cates, Ivey, Blom and Hansen – each suffered six-figure losses over the past week, with Phil Ivey taking the biggest hit at a painful $945,412 sustained over almost 8,000 hands, played mainly on 2-7 triple draw and pot-limit Omaha.

Chasing him for the dubious accolade was Dan Cates, who dropped $765,480 over 2,727 hands, and Gus Hansen, whose brief run of good fortune ended with another awful loss of $465,366 over 15,064 hands.

The mercurial Viktor Blom was the fourth biggest loser, down a more moderate (for him) $268,427 in 14,162 hands.

As previously reported, German ace Niklas ‘ragen70' Heinecker was the biggest winner of the week, ending it up around 1.4 million and way ahead of the nearest rival for the ‘big winner' title, Samrostan who played 8,190 hands to take home $464,096.

Phil Galfond mitigated his recent big losses by ending the week up $268,184 over 6,490 hands, and Elior Sion (up $160,996 / 4,991 hands) and Jens Kyllönen (up $127,322 / 1,135 hands) completed the top winner's quartet.
