BLUE SQUARE RENEWS SPONSORSHIP OF RACING WINTER CARNIVAL

Tuesday, November 8, 2011 : New agreement covers all flat meetings, including second running of the successful Blue Square Sprint Series
 
Online sports betting operator Blue Square has announced that it has renewed its sponsorship of Arena Leisure’s Winter Carnival, which covers all flat racing meetings at Lingfield, Southwell and Wolverhampton in January and February next year.
 
The highlight of the carnival is the second running of the popular Blue Square Sprint Series – a six furlong feature held every Saturday at Lingfield during January and February with a Grand Prix style points system rewarding runners, riders and trainers down to sixth place.
 
The series consists of seven rounds of six furlong sprints and each round will offer enhanced prize money for this category of GBP 4,000 with the Grand Final worth GBP 15,000.
 
The series has a range of Class 5 and Class 6 qualifying rounds and the Grand Final, which takes place on Saturday 25th February, and will be open to all horses within the weight range. However, entry preference will be given to those that have amassed points during the seven qualifying rounds rather than their official rating.
 
Entries for the opening qualifier on Saturday 7th January will close on Tuesday 2nd January.
 
Blue Square will be holding a launch party at Lingfield Racecourse on Saturday 12th November and they will also be giving away hundreds of tickets over the winter.
