Bodog to shut out certain jurisdictions

Tuesday August 7,2012 : BODOG BECOMING MORE SELECTIVE IN EUROPE?

Players report moves to shut out certain jurisdictions

Reports from Bodog.co.uk players started to surface over the weekend suggesting that the online casino, poker, race and sports book site is becoming more selective in who it will entertain as a player.

The players reported receiving email notifications that informed them:

"Starting 30 August 2012, Bodog.co.uk will no longer process transactions in your jurisdiction.

"We recommend that you withdraw any balance you may have in your account by 30 August 2012. Minimum withdrawal amount is $/€/£10. After 30 August, we will adjust your balance to 0 to protect your funds. To withdraw your balance after 30 August, you will need to contact customer service at service@bodog.co.uk.

"Thank you for your understanding and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."

No reason was given for the apparent shutdown of accounts, leaving the issue open to speculation that:

* Bodog.co.uk is following other companies in servicing only specific nationally regulated jurisdictions or

* The franchise holder is exiting the business or

* Payment processing difficulties have become apparent in some jurisdictions

Bodog Europe holds the exclusive license to the Bodog brand for online gambling in Europe, and operates Bodog.co.uk, regulated and overseen by the Antigua and Barbuda Financial Services Regulatory Commission, Directorate of Offshore Gaming.

When InfoPowa went to press Monday morning a response was awaited from Bodog Europe.
