Boris Becker New PartyPoker ambassador

WORLD FAMOUS TENNIS LEGEND NOW A PARTYPOKER AMBASSADOR

Boris Becker signing follows that of high stakes poker ace Sam Trickett.

Hot on the heels of UK poker ace Sam Trickett's signing as a PartyPoker ambassador comes the news that world tennis legend Boris Becker – an acknowledged skillful poker player – has joined the PartyPoker ambassadorial team.

To celebrate the signing PartyPoker has created a Beat the Ace competition in which players get the opportunity to test their skills and luck in four $5,000 freerolls which started December 5. The overall winner will then get to play Becker heads up live in Germany for up to $25,000.

Becker, a six-time major singles winner became the youngest Wimbledon champion ever at the age of 17 and for the next decade dominated tennis, challenging the might of fellow legends Ivan Lendl and Stefan Edberg.

In a PartyPoker statement, Becker said this week that he was still driven by the urge to compete:

“I am equally competitive at the poker table as I was on the tennis court, so I’m really excited to be partnering with partypoker and taking on players around the world. It's a game of skill and perseverance, so I’m hoping to use my experience on the tennis court to my advantage. Partypoker has some world class tournaments coming up and I look forward to playing online as well as live."

Becker is no stranger to the game, in addition to years of poker playing; he has been associated with Pokerstars and has over $111,000 in live tourney earnings.
