A pair of National League contenders will collide this Friday. The NL Central-leading Milwaukee Brewers will host the Los Angeles Dodgers of the NL West in a highly anticipated series. The MLB betting community can’t afford to miss this contest. While the Brewers have led the NL Central for much of their 2014 campaign, they are just 18/1 to seal the deal with the World Series.
Their 55-59 record against the spread, contrasted with their 62-52 record in the standings, sheds light on their ability to perform under pressure. The Dodgers have seen a relatively similar trend, but have stronger odds for the title; they are 5/1 to win the World Series. Considering they’ve been cast as short-list World Series favorites for much of the year, the strong odds are not surprising. Seeing as the Brewers have been surprising us all, holding the fort in the NL Central since April, it’s hard to rule them out.
