More changes in California poker legalization bills

Posted 1/13/11 : The three legislative proposals aimed at legalising online poker in the state of California have been reduced to two following a decision by the Poker Voters of America to put their support behind Sen. Rob Wright's proposal rather than go with their own, which was drafted by lobbyist and former state politician Lloyd Levine.

Commenting on the decision to support Wright's SB45, PVA executive director Patrick Dorinson said: “Senator Wright indicated that he wants everyone under his bill, and we agree with that.

"We will be working with Senator Wright to bring forward amendments to strengthen the bill and build consensus among potential stakeholders."

The alternative to the Wright bill is Sen. Lou Correa's proposal, which has the support of the Morongo Band of Mission Indians and land card rooms under the aegis of the California Online Poker Association.
