First Asian event for World Poker Tour
 
The World Poker Tour has announced a new National Series event to be held in China at the end of 2012.
 
The event which will take place at the MGM Grand Sanya Resort from 14 – 17 December, in conjunction with the tour’s China partner Beijing Ourgame Ltd, represents the first time the WPT has held an event in Asia.
 
WPT chief executive officer Steve Heller said: "“We are very excited about the potential of this tournament as there are thousands of players in China who aren’t able to play in large tournaments such as this without having to deal with the expense and hassle of traveling out of the country.”
