Mahjong Time, which provides online mahjong gaming software and is an official partner of the World Series of Mahjong (WSOM), has signed Chinese online sports news company Sportscn as a licensee of its mahjong game software.
The companies have inked an exclusive agreement that provides Sportscn with a constant revenue stream through the offering of real four-player mahjong to the Chinese marketplace. Mahjong is a national pastime and has been designated as the 255th National Sport of China, and Sportscn's marketing plan is to capitalise on this savvy mahjong marketplace with Mahjong Time's multi-language game platform.
Sportscn is a China-based site that focuses on providing real-time sports-related news to eastern China. The site has been in existence for more than eight years and has seen significant growth in traffic and brand value. Sportscn has an exclusive broadcast partnership with the European Football League and also offers live broadcasts of many major multi-sport events.
"Our partnership with Mahjong Time will allow us to offer a new level of entertainment while giving our company a new source of revenue," said Cason Lee, CEO of Sportscn. "In addition to our sports coverage, we are providing our community members with a genuine mahjong experience that will increase their time on the site and further enhance our brand loyalty," he added.
