Dan Cates Loses Over 1 Million This Week At Online Poker

Saturday March 22,2014 : JUNGLEMAN TAKES A BIG HIT ON THE HIGH STAKES TABLES

Losing over a million in a week has to hurt.

The vagaries of poker fortune played against online poker pro Dan "Jungleman" Cates this week, reversing his profitable nosebleed action on the Full Tilt Poker high stakes virtual tables in the preceding week to a painful $1,001,078 loss after playing 3,845 hands, according to the High Stakes Data Base.

Jungleman went from the million dollar biggest winner in the previous week to almost the biggest loser for a similar amount as he took a beating from several players.

Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond suffered even more as the week's biggest loser on $1,011,872 in 9,838 hands, not a good return to the virtual tables after he had stayed away since the beginning of this year.

Other big losers included samrostan (down $426,306); FakeSky (down almost $300,000) and poor Gus Hansen, who went back to his losing ways and took a hit of $148,181.

Viktor "Isildur1" Blom presented the other side of the coin, continuing his prosperous upswing – mainly at the expense of Galfond – to head the nosebleed winners in the past week with $1,231,879 over a prolific 17,559 hands on the Full Tilt Poker site.

His closest rival was a player using the nom-de-plume Crazy Elior who was up almost $290,000 over 4,316 hands at Pokerstars.
